Blurb: “Meet Setsuna: she’s cute, sexy, and deadly. When she’s not out murdering people as a professional assassin, she’s nesting at home, trying to adjust to a domestic life with her husband. She skewers ingredients for dinner, draws a knife on unwanted solicitors, and sleeps with one eye open, just in case. Her lovestruck husband doesn’t ask a lot of questions about her day job, and love conquers all, right? This sexy comedy is sure to make a killing!”

Morgan’s Musings: When I read the blurb on the back of this manga, it reminded me of a mixture of “Spy X Family,” with assassins, and “The Way of the House Husband,” about a former gang leader who is now married and is a house husband, him excelling in household chores, but in extreme ways, with gangster ways, ha! My hubby and I like both of these series.  This series has similar tones to the ladder story; a girl who is still a hit woman (and from a family of them,) newly married to a sweet man who adores her (and he does know about her job, but doesn’t ask questions,) her learning to be a good wife.  These chapters are very short and there is no large overall story; they follow little episodes of daily life.  Many animes are doing this now (“The Way of the House Husband” does this as well.)

But, I must admit…it took me a bit to get into this one.  It is sweet and I get the appeal is the story is meant to be simplistic, easy to take in and enjoy without much thinking.  But, it was almost too slow-paced.  The couple just got married, but they have only kissed once and still get overly flustered by each other.  I get this is meant it is to be adorable, but I found it a bit too unrealistic even in a manga.  And we never see her at work.  There are hints and conversations of course, but again, it was not as entertaining as it could have been.

In fact, I feel there were a good number of lost opportunities.  Not that I want to tell an author what to do.  Simple stories are nice, but they still need to be entertaining and have characters you want to root for.  The characters are okay, but they did not stick with me like I wanted. I did like the little sister character and hope to see more of her.

This story is 16+ because there are some fan service panels with girl’s having big…melons.  You do not see anything, but it can be implied.  They are married though.

Will I Continue the Series? To be honest…most likely not.  I think if they made it a short anime like “The Way of the House Husband,” it would be more humorous to watch, and if the main character was a bit more outgoing.  She is supposed to be calm due to her job and as a wife, it is part of her charm, but this is where seeing her at work with give her more of a chance to shine. For this manga-ka, I hope it gets an anime.
