Warner Brothers has released an initial trailer for their first cinema released film, appropriately named The LEGO Movie. With appearances from LEGO characters, from your childhood until today, this animated film looks to be a crowd pleaser for kids young and old. Following typical LEGO action and humor we have seen in previous LEGO games and shorts, the 3D fully animated movie follows ordinary good-citizen Emmett, who is mistaken for a powerful person with the key to saving the world. The LEGO press release states, he is drafted into a fellowship of strangers on an epic quest to stop an evil tyrant, a journey for which Emmett is hopelessly and hilariously underprepared.
Kids all around the world love LEGO. With special appearances by Superman, Batman, and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, among many other LEGO characters throughout the years, this seems to be LEGO’s great experiment toward mass appeal and strengthening their brand name. Toys based on the movie will surely follow so this looks to be gearing up as a fun time for kids and big kids in and out of the theater.
