My Buddy, Mr J. Christopher Wilson is reviewing some movies and series. He has agreed for us to post his reviews here.
DAY SHIFT is a hysterical, 80s-style, white water rapid romp down the vampire river genre and it succeeds because it knows what kind of movie it is.
Big stars, big action, and one-liners, DAY SHIFT mixes the ridiculousness of SNAKES ON A PLANE with the action of JOHN WICK, and combines it with the star power of PREDATOR or FAST AND THE FURIOUS.
What’s not to love when you have a vampire slayer movie starring Jamie Foxx and Snoop Dog? I mean come on. That should be enough to make a movie-goer open up the Netflix app and add that to the queue before the end of this review. If that’s not enough, Snoop Dogg plays a cowboy vamp hunter. A cowboy. Seeing him in a cowboy hat, duster, and boots was worth it all by itself.
Don’t expect too much except a ridiculously good time. On that note, a good time was had by all. It won’t win any awards, but DAY SHIFT entertains anyone who has any love for pop culture.
