My friend, Nathan Blu, is the artist on an upcoming comic, which is receiving a lot of national attention. He is the artist on the Paula Deen comic book from Blue Water Comic. The Paula Deen comic will be released this fall.
Paula Deen has recently been the subject of much controversy. She has apologized for using racial slurs in her past. This issue has numerous facets and differences in public opinion. This controversy is not blocking the Paula Deen Comic from being published on time.
The Paula Deen Comic is a part of their Female Force series of comics. The Female Force series focuses on important women of our time including Michelle Obama, Margaret Thatcher, Martha Stewart, Anne Rice, Princess Diana and many more.
I am very excited for the exposure that Nathan is receiving with this. Just look at the awesome image above and you can see why his art is getting this attention. Comic Book artists in general do not receive enough public attention. Artists who don’t work for Marvel or D.C. receive even less attention. Enjoy your moment in the spotlight my friend because it is well deserved.
Below is a video with Jimmy Kimmel discussing the Paula Deen comic during his monologue. After this monologue, several of the geek websites like Bleeding Cool, Comics Alliance, and Comicbook.com have written articles about it. Even other news sites like NPR, ABC, USA Today, and Fox News are running stories about it.
Stay Geeky my Friends!
