Netflix has done something that New Line couldn’t do. They are adapting the Vertigo comic Sandman into a live action adaption. New Line attempted to make this Neil Gaiman comic series into a movie but never got it off the ground after three years. Netflix has signed a contract for a Eleven Episode season adaption of the comics. This is a deal with Warner Bros Television since Vertigo is a part of DC Comics and owned by Warner.
Allen Heinberg will be the show runner and one of the writers for this series. Neil Gaiman and David Goyer will be executive producers and help write the premiere episode. Neil Gaiman is the creator of the comics.
I am surprised that Warner didn’t save this adaption for their Warner or DC Universe streaming services.
