Greeks! Romans! Heroes of all lands! Lend me your ears! I am jazzed to announce that my favorite author, Rick Riordan, announced this month that he is releasing a NEW BOOK set in his fantastic, compelling, modern-mythological world of the famous and cherished “Percy Jackson series!” I’m more joyous than a Percy eating a blue cupcake or Annabeth helping redesign Mt. Olympus! =D
If you are not familiar with Mr. Riordan’s world, he creates worlds where the lore of ancient cultures still exists among us and new generations of demigods, heroes, and monsters come to save the Earth with sass and entertaining, unique ways. All the characters are gems, the story reverting, and Mr. Riordan our Uncle of Literature!
We thought the Riordan world of Greek/Roman mythology was over, written. This, as of late, is understandable since he is working on a new series based on “20,000 Leagues Under the Sea” starting his own imprint for authors who write in similar styles and woven tales like them, being a supporter and mentor. He is also working with Disney+ on adapting a “Percy Jackson” into a proper screen representation (Unlike the films…blah!)
So, when I read this EW article that Uncle Rick posted himself on his Facebook Like Page I am a huge follower of, I soared almost as high as a pegasus! It’s too good to be true! This astounding author explains also this book will be a collab with YA writer Mark Oshiro, both eager for this new project and in love with these characters. Currently, there is no title revealed.
The part that will make fangirls swoon? Our precious, pouty, prince of darkness son of Hades Nico di Angelo and his healing, sunny, cinnamon roll Will Solace will be the leads! Getting to know these characters and watching their budding romance in the progressing series has been a treat for all of us Camp Half-Blood members. With a few possible loose ends at the end of the last book in “The Trials of Apollo,” it will be incredible to have these fan-favorites take centerstage.
You know I will be purchasing it the SECOND it comes out!
