There has been a ton of excitement around Disney getting the rights to Daredevil back from Netflix. Charlie Cox appeared in the She-Hulk: Attorney at Law series reprising his role as Matt Murdock and Daredevil. Since then the excitement to see Cox in his own MCU Disney+ series has been building. According to Variety, THR, and many other sites, things haven’t gone well for the Daredevil: Born Again series.
Less than half of the series 18 Episode order (that is right, 18 episodes), Marvel Studios have determined to go in a different direction. They fired writers Chris Ord and Matt Corman but they will both still be credited as executive producers. They also fired the directors for the remaining episodes. Marvel Studios is seeking new writers and eventually directors to revamp the show from the direction it was going.
The series is unable to return to normal production but the actors are still on strike. They are in negotiations with the studio but haven’t officially ended the strike for the actors.
The writer and actor strikes did slow down the productions. Apparently, Marvel Studios looked closely and decided it wasn’t worth continuing as it was. Some of the already shot footage will be used but we don’t know how much or what the delay in the release date.
