In an Interview with BBC’s Newsbeat, Disney chairman Bob Iger confirmed plans for both more Marvel and Star Wars movies. Both franchises are planned out through the end of the decade. It appears Disney is far from done with either franchise after this decade.
There are four more Star Wars films plans. There will one movie a year for the next four years. Episode VIII & IX, “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story”, and an unnamed Han Solo film are set. Marvel has 10 movies planned through 2019 including 2 new Avengers movies. On the subject of the Marvel and Star Wars movies, Iger stated, “There will be more after that, I don’t know how many, I don’t know how often.” He also said, “Marvel, you’re dealing with thousands and thousands of characters – that will go on forever.”
