I Am A Leaf
by Larry Litle
Oct 11, 2013
I am a leaf blowing on the Wind
I have no control where I may go
Possibly I sit on the cold Autumn Grass
This could cause me to be trampled upon
Maybe I will be raked into a group of leaves
With joy, children bounce into the pile
I may slowly drift through the neighborhood
Stopping only for while and then moving on
Or the storms may come with fierce gusts
And be carried forcefully around the country
My locus of control appears Microscopic
I have no power over where I will blow
Yet these thoughts are incomplete falsehoods
I am more powerful than the gales and storms
I control how I respond to my fate
My attitude determines my existence
I am a leaf blowing on the wind
Yet I do not fear where the wind blows
