Oz Con has now come and gone for 2019. It was a fun small convention in West Plains, MO. It was put on by the Missouri State University-West Plains Computer Graphics and Programming department as well as the local chapter of Association for Computing Machinery.
This year I shared a booth space with Shpoo of Skallywag Productions and A.J. Blanton from ABeesCreations. We ha a great time talking to convention goers, selling some items, and talking to each other.
There were a bunch of awesome cosplayers this weekend. Many of them walked by and I was able to get some good pictures (posted laster this week). A.J. and Shpoo emceed the cosplay contest, which was awesome.
On Sunday, we hosted a panel, Geek Media: Peeking behind the curtain of geek/Nerd Media. A.J., Shpoo, and I discussed what is it like to be geek media and chased some figurative rabbits along the way. It was a ton and we had an awesome audience.
The staff at Oz Con was fantastic. They were always concerned how we were doing and asking if we could do anything help. Anytime we needed to be away from our booth, they had a volunteer to take over for us. They were amazing and made us feel like family.
Stay Geeky!
