Oz-Con in West Plains has always had a mission of charity and giving back. Every year, this convention donates the proceeds to charity. There is a Charity Raffle at the end of the convention.
A few years ago, Oz-Con created their own 501c3 charity, Always a Future for Kids (AFK), as a focal point to give back. AFK gives to several local charities that support children. There mission statement is “To provide resources to help youth avoid setbacks caused by poverty, abuse, or foster care or other similar needs.”
I have been to a bunch of different conventions of the years. But Oz-Con is the only one that gives all of their proceeds to charity. Their staff have such a heart to give. This is such a great cause. It makes me proud to cover and be a part of this convention.
