There is a ton of buzz and interests in what Peter Capaldi will bring to the Doctor Who Franchise. Since the series was renewed and brought back in 2005, all three Doctors have been fairly young. Capaldi is 55 years old (not really old but not young anymore). It is hard to remember that is the same age as William Hartnell, the First Doctor, when he took up the role of the Doctor.
With all of this excitement and some apprehension, I never asked how long he would remain as the Doctor. I would hope for a long run because I hate losing a Doctor after I have gotten attached to them. According to Express (British News Site), Peter Capaldi’s contract is for only 13 episodes. He will have a 6 episode season followed by a 7 episode season (Darn those typical British short seasons). It is possible that he could stay around for future seasons but at this point, we are only guaranteed 13 episodes. This news has depressed me.
