As the Staff of Geeky KOOL prepares for our coverage of this weekend’s Planet Comicon Kansas City, I a struck by the humongous amount of guests. There are tons of media, creator, and cosplayer guests.
There are so many awesome media guests it is hard to know where to start. If you want an autograph from someone on your favorite movie or television show, you have a great chance of finding one or more of them at Planet Comicon Kansas City. If you love the CW’s Arrow, Oliver Queen himself, Stephen Amell, will be there. He is joined by John Barrowman, aka Malcolm Merlyn. But Barrowman is also known for his role as Capt. Jack Harkness on Doctor Who and Torchwood. Fellow Doctor Who companions Rose (Billie Piper) and Donna (Catherine Tate) will be in attendance. Are you a Buffy fan? You can meet Felicia Day (who is in everything), Emma Caulfield, and Clare Kramer. If you are a Wrestling fan, you can meet Rick The Nature Boy Flair– “Woooo” and Jerry “The King” Lawler. There are so many more that I can’t name them all. I am really excited to see Ron Perlman and Adelaide Kane (Queen Mary of Scotts on Reign). You can check out the whole list right here.
The Creative guests are equally exciting and overwhelming. I am trying to create a list of comics to bring and I am overwhelmed. Legendary creators Neal Adams, Howard Chaykin,Chris Claremont, Don Rosa, and Jim Steranko will all be at Planet Comicon Kansas City. The Wallace Wood Estates and the Frazetta Girls (daughter and granddaughters of Frank Frazetta) will both be there representing greatness. Jason Aaron, the Writer of Star Wars, Thor, and Southern Bastards will be in attendance. Cullen Bunn, comic writer including The Sixth Gun, Micronauts, Monsters Unleashed, X-Men: Blue, and tons of other awesome comics. Awesome Comic Artist Rick Burchett is known for popular webcomic Lady Sabre & The Pirates of the Ineffable Aether and The All-New Batman: The Brave and the Bold. DC Comics Publisher, Dan Didio, will be at this awesome convention. Novelist Timothy Zahn will be signing books and I will bring my Star Wars: Heir to the Empire 1st Edition for him to sign. Cosplayers will be in full swing this weekend. There are several special cosplayer guests along with all of the other cosplayers. You can see Jessica Nigri, Zen Dragon and Abby Dark-Star, Calen Hoffman, Iron Brothers of Topeka aka IBOT, and Steven K. Smith. There is a ton of other featured cosplayers. Check it out here.
