Planet Comicon Kansas City 2019 is only a week and a half away. It starts next Friday March 29th. It runs through Sunday March 31st. They are celebrating their 20 year anniversary this year. You can purchase tickets here.
I started attending a couple years into their run. It was a small convention in Overland Park. The first few years, the panels where in a corner on the show floor. Over the twenty years, it grew into the largest midwest Comic (geek) convention.
All of this growth happened because of leadership. Christopher Jackson, the creator and organizer of Planet Comicon Kansas City has been leading this convention and taking risks from the beginning. He brought the convention downtown to Bartle Hall. This was a risky big step but as usual, Jackson nailed it.
Planet Comicon Kansas City is always one of the highlights of Geeky KOOL’s convention coverage. It is a pleasure to work with the fine folks in the Press department. They make covering this con easy and fun. We cannot wait to get up to Kansas City and cover this awesome geek convention.
