Monsters
By Larry Litle

Monsters are social creatures
Enjoying each other’s corrupt company
Their built in support system
To encourage and enable one another
Safety in their social groups
Stopping rioters, holding pitchforks and torches
A gang of monsters is stronger
Than a rebellion of feeble peasants
They take pride in their work
Enjoy watching other monsters
Delight in the chaos and fear
Driving the normals out of their minds
Smiling widely in their vile joy
Pride in a job well performed
Their cold blacken hearts beat wildly
Bringing terror to the world
The core problem with monster
Is the perception of themselves
Never viewing each other as monsters
Rather as the hero of their stories.
