My Eleven Year Old Daughter’s favorite comic book was the Tiny Titans. The final issue of Tiny Titans, #50- AW YEAH TITANS! came out in March. With all of the hustle and bustle of the holidays, I missed the announcement last December that Tiny Titans would end with issue #50.
Tonight I broke the news to her. She was extremely upset that she will no longer receive the fun filled Tiny Titans issues. She loves Supergirl but it can be a bit too mature for her at times. The Tiny Titans allowed her to enjoy a comic book for pure fun and enjoyment sake. Her eyes would enlarge and shine for the night when I would bring home the latest issue from the Comic Shop.
I always read my daughter’s comic book issues before I give them to her. I do this so I know what my daughter is reading and so I can discuss it with her. I want to know if they are discussing issues that I need to follow up with her on and if I think a comic book may not be appropriate for her age. I really enjoyed reading the Tiny Titans. It was always silly fun but it had a great underlining humor that poked fun at the DC universe and continuity.
My daughter will miss really receiving her month dose of Tiny Titans. We will try the new kid comic book, Superman Family Adventures (see photo below). The great creative team of Art Baltazar and Franco from Tiny Titans will write and draw the Superman Family Adventures. I am hopeful this new comic from Baltazar and Franco will be as fun for my daughter as the Tiny Titans have been.
