It is rare for Geeky KOOL to wander into fashion news. There are always exceptions.
According to Allure, the the big fashion of 2017 is a return to the 80s. At least a return to the fashions of the 80s.
Pins with a 80s theme are extremely popular on Pintrest according to their analytic team. The 80s trend doesn’t seem to be dying down. They are predicting the popularity of flair and pins on clothes are a top interest. I know I had pins covering my jackets in the mid 80s. They are seeing an interest in styles like high-tops, peg legs, and denim skirts.
The retail analytic firm Edited is predicting a return to the 80s. “The 1980s will be huge—everything from power suits and slouchy tailored trousers for office wear, through to off-the-shoulder looks, activewear and [over-the-top] ruffles” (Fashionista)
“Designers have packed recent collections with ’80s details. Hedi Slimane’s last collection for Saint Laurent saw more dramatic shoulders since the series finale of Dynasty, and other designers followed suit with Reagan-era stylings in their spring 2017 collections.” (Allure)
I am like totally excited! I love the 80s! It is totally awesome! I can’t wait for these trends to hit the Midwest.
