The 4th Annual LibraryCon put on by Springfield-Greene County Library District was held last weekend. We at Geeky KOOL covered this awesome event. It was an incredible local event and continues to get better every year.
This small one day (plus a bonus Friday session) convention was a huge hit. They counted over 5000 attendees this year. That is an increase around 20% in attendance from year. This convention continues grow every year.
The biggest challenge this year was parking. If growth continues, they will need to find a way to add parking. When I left for lunch and came back, I was lucky to find one spot on the street to park. LibraryCon doesn’t want to drive away attendees by not having enough parking.
LibraryCon had a ton of cosplayers. We will post pictures of some of the cosplayer later tonight. This is a great convention for new cosplayers and veterans.
This was an wonderful geek convention and experience. I took my 9 year old son to a good portion of LibraryCon and he had a great time. It was as much of a pleasure to cover this convention as to attend.
