Actor David Lander past away last Friday. He is best known for his role as Squiggy on Laverne & Shirley on ABC. Lander was 73 years old. He died from complications related to multiple sclerosis.
Lander was good friends with his buddy Michael McKean. McKean was the other half of Lenny and Squiggy. Together they created Lenny and Squiggy and used them on the series. Lander and McKean were longtime friends and collaborators . They became great friends during their time at Carnegie Mellon University.
Lander was a baseball scout for both the Angels and Mariners. At one point, he owned a Minor League team. He also portrayed a baseball broadcaster in A League of Their Own, which was directed by Penny Marshal aka Laverne.
His Hellos on Laverne & Shirley always cracked me up. Check out the video below. It think this is a great tribute to him.
Rest In Peace David Lander.
