At San Diego Comic Con, The Russo Brothers announced they have acquired the rights to adapt Battle of the Planets into a movie. No screenwriters, actors, or director has been named. They did mentioned they might direct it and if they do, it will be a live action adaptation.
Battle of the Planets was an animated series in the 70s and 80s. A version of this series was known as G-Force (also the name of the team) in the 80s. It originated as Japanese anime Science Ninja Team Gatchaman.
This series was my first introduction to anime. I love how they were superheroes and in a science fiction series. I watched it after school and loved it. Thank you, Battle of the Planets.
I am hoping for a live action adaption. But if they do, it needs to be awesome!
