9-11

We pause to remember the tragic attacks of September 11, 2001.  More importantly, we remember all of the victims and their families. We remember the brave Firemen and Police Officers, and the Emergency Medical workers.  We honor those that we lost and that sacrificed for our country. We also remember the brave men and women that fought in Afghanistan and Iraq.

I remember where I was at on 9-11.  I was getting ready for work and my wife was watching Good Morning America. We saw the second plane hit the second tower on live television. There is no words to describe the horror of seeing this happen. I cannot image the how terrible it was to be in New York or Washington, DC on that day. My whole sense of security and peace left me that day but luckily it has returned.  I had a young child (now not so small) and wondering what kind of world she would grow up in. I don’t remember another time in my life where I was so anxious.

Time has a way of helping us with perspective.  It helps us deal with tragedy.  I now have peace in my mind and heart but I will never forget.
