Amy Pascal, Chairperson of Sony, recently stated that Spider-Man might be on his own outside of the Marvel Cinematic Universe after Avengers: Infinite War and the Homecomings sequel. See the below video.
When I first heard this, it felt like a punch to the gut. The new trailer for Spider-Man: Homecomings is awesome. A huge part of this is that he is in the MCU. He is a part of the bigger universe.
Pascal was correct in what she said. The contract between Sony and the MCU is only good through the sequel. They will need to renegotiate to extend the Web Head in the MCU. Hopefully this will make too much sense not to do it.
I would love to see Spidey stick in the MCU for a long time to come. It makes so much sense. It is fluid. Please get this done sooner rather than later MCU and Sony.
