This year was the first ever Tell-Tale Steampunk Convention held in a suburb of Baltimore, MD. It is the first Steampunk Con held in Baltimore, and the theme was based on the writing of Edgar Allen Poe. This was a small Con set around the release of the book “A Cast of Crows”, a steampunk anthology inspired by Edgar Allen Poe. There were various panels to attend, and authors were set up in the hallway around the vendor room. The Vendor room was in a small ballroom, with the workshops set up next door in the main ballroom. Personally I hope next year they put both the vendors and authors in the main ballroom, and the workshops in the smaller one. That way, it will look like you have both vendors and an author alley in the same room.
I only did a couple of interviews, the first one was with Dana Fraedrich. she is a rather spunky female author who was a bubble of joy to talk to, both as an interview, and as someone to meet. she had books for sale along with little crocheted items, that she was busy working on as we got to know each other.
The next person I did an interview with, was mine and Ashley Grants friend, Jessi Lucci. We met Jessi about 4 years ago at a Steampunk Con in NJ that Ashley had won tickets to. This short blurb from Jessi is very brief.
Of course being a Steampunk Convention, there were a lot of great Steampunk costumes, and tables set up, so here are some of the photos
A monster hunters kit, one of the many items that were up for auction.
Dana’s table with all her wonderful books, and other assorted Items for sale. She was also one of the few authors who had a chronology printed out, so you knew what order to read the books in.
Jessi Lucci and her latest book
These are some of the great costumes that people wore to the Con, there were a lot of Vendors selling leather work, a long with hats for both men and woman.
