With outstanding reviews leaking out from the Toronto Film Festival and overwhelming endorsement by James Cameron who said the movie is “the best space film ever done,” buzz around the film Gravity is beginning to reach deafening levels. If you didn’t see the footage shown at Comic-Con, this latest trailer for the UK is the most revealing look at what is in store in this thrilling roller coaster ride of emotions and the dangers of space.
Starring George Clooney and Sandra Bullock, the Alfonso Cuarón directed film takes an up-close and realistic journey with a shuttle crew on a seemingly routine mission. When disaster strikes, the astronauts find themselves tethered to each other and caught in the vastness of space. The film is said to take the oxygen out of the air as the audience gasps alongside each limited breath of the characters as they deal with the tensions and time constraints of surviving the blackness.
After watching and being pleasantly surprised by the Tom Cruise movie Oblivion, which was a more traditional science fiction film, I am very much looking forward to seeing this in theaters, as an enthralled audience creates an atmosphere that can so closely mimic the vacuum of space when every anticipation comes from each exacting moment unfolding on the big screen in front of them.
Gravity is set for a wide release on October 4, 2013.
