The classic Midevel novel, Sir Gawain and The Green Knight, is coming to the big screen with The Green Knight. This early Arthurian tale is one of intrigue and of a quest for the eponymous Green Knight. The Green Knight is a gigantic emerald-skinned stranger and is called the tester of men. Sir Gawain is the headstrong nephew of King Arthur.
This movie was one of my highly anticipated movies of 2020. We all know how that went. It has been delayed until 2021.
In surprising news, The Green Knight has been rated “R” by the MPAA. The general expectation was PG-13. Even more surprising is the reason. It has been rated “R” for “Graphic Nudity”. Often the term “Graphic Nudity” denotes male frontal nudity.
This is not a movie to take the kids. Here I was hoping to my 11 year old son to see this movie. That will not be happening now.
