It was a little weird when originally announced that the Hobbit would be two movies. I bought into the idea of adding in other information to fill in the gaps of the Book. Now it will be a trilogy. I am excited for more beautiful images of Middle Earth but a little torn with the idea of adding a third movie.
This week did have exciting news on this upcoming trilogy. All Three movies now have titles. The first (due out this December) has been named for a while with The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. This title makes sense since it was unlikely that any Hobbit would ever go on an adventure. I am sure the focus on Bilbo and how he is the unlikely hero and adventurer.
The second movie will be The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug. This movie’s title implies a deeper look into the fierce dragon Smaug. I have always been fascinated with Smaug.
The third movie will be titled The Hobbit: There and Back Again. There and Back Again is the name of the book that Bilbo writes about his adventures.
I am eagerly anticipating The Hobbit on the big screen and a return to the Shire and Middle Earth.
