According to Deadline, the rumored remake/reboot of the 70’s television series, The Six Million Dollar Man. This reboot will be “The Six Billion Dollar Man”. It will star mega star Mark Wahlberg aka Marky Mark. It will hit theaters on December 22, 2017.
The original series starred Lee Majors. It focused on astronaut Col. Steve Austin. After a crash nearly killed him, he was fixed with bionics, cybernetic parts, for his legs, right arm, and eye. It ran on ABC from 1973 to 1978.
Based like its television predecessor on the novel Cyborg by Martin Caidin, The Six Billion Dollar Man will be written and directed by Damián Szifron (Wild Tales). TWC-Dimension EVP Production and Creative Affairs Matthew Signer, and SVP Production and Development Keith Levine are overseeing. Wahlberg, Stephen Levinson and Bob Weinstein will produce, with shooting scheduled to start in September. (Deadline)
