After 2 long years due to the pandemic, Tidewater Comicon returned to the Virginia Beach, VA Convention Center. The fans came out in force and Saturday(the day I attended) was slammed with fans, cosplayers, vendors, artists and celebrity guests. The biggest guests this year were Brandon Routh(Superman Returns, Legends of Tomorrow) and John Wesley Shipp( the original Flash). Other guests included Renae Jacobs(April O’Neill TMNT cartoon), Michael Bell(G.I. Joe among other voice work), Comic Book Artists Ken Hunt, Jason Keith, Reilly Brown, Brian Lacy, Bob Frantz, Kevin Cuffe and others.
The Con this year, was a bit different as the Convention Center had split the Hall in half for another event the same weekend, so everything felt a bit cramped. I was able to have long conversations with many artists, including Brian Lacy, Ken Hunt, and Bob Frantz. I was already good friends with Brian and Bob from both previous Cons and social media.
Due to the amount of people, I was unable to take a lot of photos, but here are the photos I did take, most of them during the cosplay award announcement
I am glad the fans came out in force, the vendors and artists had good shows. The excitement was back, and I am looking forward to next years show.
