On DND Beyond, the alpha for the Maps was added a while back. The Maps is a Virtual Tabletop section that works with DND Beyond just like a hard map in-person play. This video highlights some of the new features. This still is in alpha.
I have compared DND Beyond Maps to the extension for Above VTT (Virtual Table Top). At this time, AVTT is far superior to Maps. But AVTT has been around for a while and is way past Alpha and Beta. On the tokens in AVTT, you can right-click and pull up info on the character, track health, and any conditions. Hopefully, all of that will be added to Maps in the future.
