Here is a really interesting mini documentary about 4 young people who are hoping to be in the first group to live on Mars. Mars One, an interplanetary travel nonprofit, have organized a mission to Mars where four people will live out the rest of their lives on the Red Planet. These individuals are in the competition to get the privileged for the Mars mission.
I have always wanted to live on the Moon. As a kid, I read an article about the future Moon Base and knew that I had to live there when I grew up. Well, that Moon Basenever came about for numerous reasons. On the Moon, it would be possible to go back to Earth if someone was sick or needs a break from the Moon. Mars is a one way mission with our current technology. I don’t think I could live on Mars especially with the restrictions the video discusses.
Meet the people who’ve volunteered to be on the first manned mission to Mars … and stay there.
Three volunteers are on the shortlist to be among four people on the Mars One programme, the first manned space flight to Mars – a one-way trip that’s effectively a suicide mission. A physics student in the UK, a young doctor from Mozambique and an Iraqi-American woman, all happy to sacrifice their futures for a place in history. Why do they want to leave Earth, and who are they leaving behind? As the list of potential Mars explorers is whittled down further on 16 February, meet those competing to be the first to land on the Red Planet. (Youtube)
