Last week, it was announced that Colossal Biosciences had brought back the formerly extinct Dire Wolves with some genetic engineering. The Dire Wolves have been extinct for thousands of years and now they are back.
The news did have a feel of Jurassic Park where dinosaurs are brought back to life. We are warned in the book and the movies about playing God and Chaos Theory where things don’t go as expected.
Will this new strand of Dire Wolves because of the new Apex predator? Will they grow and change to become the hunters of man? At this point, probably not but if they get careless with this, then who knows.
Some people will point out that true Dire Wolves are not back. Something different is. Colossal Biosciences used a grey wolf and changed the DNA to make it like a dire wolf. This is close to the Dire Wolf and could pass for them in most situations.
