Yesterday Variety reported that Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje has been added as a villain for the the Thor sequel, “Thor: The Dark World”. Akinnuoye-Agbaje may be best known for his short lived role as Mr. Ecko on ABC’s series LOST. He will be cast in a dual role of Algrim the Strong of the Dark Elves. His character will later be transformed into Kurse, a villain who is twice as strong as Thor.
Christopher Eccleston, the Ninth Doctor on Doctor Who, will portray Malekith the Accursed. Malekith is the leader of the Dark Elves. He had numerous special abilities.
Either Malekith the Accursed or Algrim the Strong would be a handful for Thor and his buddies. The story of Malekith and Algrim/Kurse is a well known in Marvel’s Thor mythos. I am looking forward to this story. Eccleston and Akinnuoye-Agbaje should make this a great movie.
Thor: The Dark World is set for a release date on Nov. 8, 2013.
