Cartoons were a staple of my childhood. There were cartoons on before we went to school in the mornings. There were often cartoons on when we got home from school. But the big day for cartoons was Saturday Mornings.
I remember getting the TV Guide for the new fall season so I could plan out my Saturday morning TV watching. It was a big deal to watch these awesome animated series. All of the Networks (all three) fought for our attention with the cartoons so they could try to sell us on cereal and toys. I miss the simple days of grabbing a bowl of cereal, sitting down with my younger sisters, and watching cartoons all Saturday morning long. Such great times.
METV, one of the networks that plays older shows, will start back up the cartoon traditions. Starting in January of 2021, METV will launch “Toon In With Me” which will play classic Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, Elmer Fudd, Road Runner, Tom and Jerry, Droopy Dog, Popeye and more cartoons. Every weekday it iwill be on from 7-8 ET/PT. On Saturday morning we get a marathon from 7-10A ET/PT.
