It appears Disney has their writer for the new Star Wars movie. They have selected Michael Arndt. Arndt wrote the scripts for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire and Toy Story 3. He received an Academy Award for writing the script for Little Miss Sunshine.
Michael is an avid Star Wars fan so his selection to work on the script is not a surprise. I love the fact he is a fan. It brings hope to me that he will develop a richer and fuller Star Wars story than the prequels. He knows how to create and write interesting characters whom the audiences can relate.
Arndt had a head start writing portions of the script. He was given inside information. He has 40 to 50 pages written currently.
It is an exciting time for Star Wars Fans.
