According to Deadline, the Spider-Man reboot has added actress and singer Zendaya. Sony and Marvel Studios have cast Zendaya as Michelle for the new movie series. There is nothing confirmed about the character of Michelle and her relationship to Peter Parker.
I am only familiar with one person named Michelle from Spidey comics. Michelle Gonzales, a lawyer who Peter accidently lived with for a while, is the only one that I know. Since Tom Holland is portraying Peter as a 15 year old, I wouldn’t make sense for Zendaya’s character to be a lawyer. She could be a younger version of Michelle Gonzales with the same sassy attitude.
Zendaya is a Disney Channel starlet. She was on the popular Disney series, Shake It Up. She starred in the Disney TV movie, Zapped. She currently stars on K.C. Undercover, a new Disney Channel series.
Spider-Man reboot will be released July 7, 2017.
